We are knee deep in storm season. If you would like to safeguard your computers/devices, make sure they are unplugged from power whenever there is threat of an electrical storm.
Turning them off, or turning off the power strip they are plugged in to does NOT protect them. If you would like some extra protection against brown-outs and black-outs, you could purchase a battery backup. This is different than a standard surge protector. Those do not protect much, and if the do get blown, many times you won’t even know it, because it will allow the power straight through to your device.
I have found Amazon has a pretty decent product line and you can save some $$ on a 12 outlet surge protector here:
Let me know if you’d like assist with this.
